Charleston is a neighborhood located in the southern part of Staten Island, New York. Its borders are roughly defined by the Arthur Kill to the west, Bloomingdale Road to the north and east, and the Richmond Valley Railroad to the south. The neighborhood is primarily residential, with a mix of single-family homes and apartment complexes. Charleston is known for its proximity to the Conference House Park, which includes a historic house museum and several hiking trails, as well as the Staten Island Tides Baseball Stadium. It is also home to the Charleston Correctional Facility, a minimum-security prison. The neighborhood has experienced significant growth and development in recent years, with several new housing developments and commercial centers being built.
